Marcus H. Martins possesses a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, a Master’s in Organizational Behavior, and a Ph.D. in Sociology, with a specialization in Religion, Race, and Ethnic Relations. Brother Martins embraced the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1972 and made history in 1978 by becoming the first Latter-day Saint of Black African descent to serve as a full-time missionary in the twentieth century. His illustrious career encompasses leadership as the Chair of the Department of Religious Education and teaching roles at Brigham Young University–Hawaii, BYU, and Ricks College. Marcus Martins has delivered lectures on a wide array of topics, spanning across the United States, Brazil, Hong Kong, Japan, and Malaysia.
